  2. King of the Mound by Wes Tooke is about an eleven year-old boy named Nick. He lives in Minnesota and has a disease called polio. He is a baseball fanatic and is obsessed with pitcher Satchel Paige. Satchel’s team is in a competition and means all business.

I loved this book and would recommend this book to baseball and sports fans. This book is overall outstanding, but it’s ending stands out. Read it yourself and enjoy the phenomenal book for yourself!

  3. The book ‘’ King of the Mound’’ by Wes Tooke is a glorious and strike out surprising - filled book about Satchel Paige. Satchel Paige is one of the best players in the Negro Leagues. In the book Nicks father played with Satchel. And soon after his father retires Nick gets polio and Nicks mother dies. So Nick is looking for inspiration to get back on the field. Can Satchel Paige help him get back in the game and be a great pitcher? Nick thinks he can do it with Satchel’s help. But Nick’s leg is broken and still will get back on that field.
