  1. Saint Louis Armstrong Beach is by Brenda Woods. It’s about a boy named Saint Louis, who is 10 years old. Saint loves the clarinet. He lives in New Orleans with his mother and father. He has a neighborhood dog Shadow, who he absolutely adores. When Hurricane Katrina hits, Saint has to evacuate with his aunt, and uncle and their two daughters. Saint knows he isn’t going anywhere without Shadow. He tells his uncle he is going to the bathroom but he is actually going to his neighborhood to look for shadow. I recommend reading Brenda Woods’s book and finding out what happens next!

  3. I really liked The Not So Jolly by Jon Scieszka about the Time Warp Trio, Fred, Sam and Joe. The boys traveled back in time, to the time of Blackbeard and his pirates. The boys adventure was really exciting, I really enjoyed the book.

  5. Saint Louis Armstrong Beach by Brenda Woods is a great book about love and friends that takes place in New Orleans, Louisiana. The two main characters are Saint and Shadow. Saint saves Shadow, the neighborhood dog, from Hurricane Katrina. The city was going to flood and everyone was evacuating. I recommend this book for anyone who is doing a project.

  6. Do you like dramatic and sad stories that include a lot of kids? Well if you do keep on reading. Jo Knowless's teen Nutmeg Nominee "See You At Harry's" takes place in a restaurant that is connected to the families house. Fern is helping her brother Holden get through all the bullying and torture because he is gay. I personally didn't like how dramatic it was but maybe that will be a trait you will like. ( Of course only "if" you read it).
